Back by popular demand, Modern Kid was an exhibit in contemporary design for children. Nurseries, kids’ rooms, playrooms and rec rooms represent key spaces in the home and a booming market for designers and product manufacturers. Modern Kid explored the best in innovative design that fosters child development, the best in materials that are organic and non-toxic, and the best in multifunctional, uniquely crafted and locally-made product.

The Ultimate jetsetter's closet
RIMOWA and Interior Elements invited IDS attendees to escape into The Ultimate Jetsetter's Closet. This traveller's haven, designed by Toronto-based Chapi Chapo Design, was outfitted with imported Minotti furniture and complemented with pops of colour from RIMOWA pieces, as well as hand-crafted elements by Christina Ott.
Off The Wall/Off The Loom
IDS14 presented Off the Wall/Off the Loom like it’s never been done before. This feature highlighted exclusive textiles and wallpaper that focused on craftsmanship and design.

Our presenting sponsor’s one-stop hub offered attendees the chance to pick up a design kit, get advice from the pros and learn about the latest trends and tips before they hit the show floor for inspiration.

Exhibit Korhani home
KORHANI home created a showcase of designs for the Interior Design Show, exhibiting pieces from their runway collections for home at World MasterCard Fashion Week to their latest innovations for 2014. The exhibit took visitors on a spectacular and interactive journey with Kirsten Korhani, chief designer and creative director of KORHANI home.

An energy-efficient, turnkey, rapid build Bunkie with designer good looks? It’s not impossible. This sleek multi-functional space featured the best in materials, interior décor, audio/video technology, small space kitchen innovation and landscape design. The Solo Home will reside at the Rochester Place Golf Club and Resort on Lake St. Clair after IDS.

IDC - What's Your Design Dilemma
Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) offered attendees free 15-minute consultations with an ARIDO-registered Interior Designer. Attendees were able to bring pictures, samples or floor plans to tackle their design dilemmas with a qualified professional.

Aircraft Furniture Auction for Charity
This year, Creative Group Interiors teamed up with Air Canada Jazz and 3 Points Aviation, an aircraft part manufacturing and distributing company, to design furniture out of retired aircraft parts and auction them to fundraise for a local charity and ONEXONE. Located at booth #442 at IDS, attendees had the chance to bid on one-of-a-kind items of uniquely designed furniture consisting of pieces made from retired Dash 8 airplanes. All proceeds benefitted the ONEXONE children’s foundation (www.onexone.org) and Chisholm Services for Children (www.chisholm4children.ca).
Creative Group Interiors is a Toronto-based design firm that believes in giving back to the environment through sustainable design, and is involved in giving back to the community through charities and fundraising.
