Modern Kid
Back by popular demand, Modern Kid is an exhibit in contemporary design for children. Nurseries, Kids’ rooms, playrooms and rec rooms represent key spaces in the home and a booming market for designers and product manufacturers. Modern Kid explores the best in innovative design that fosters child development, the best in materials that are organic and non-toxic; and the best in multifunctional, uniquely crafted and locally-made product.

MAGIC PONY
Magic Pony is a studio, gallery and retail environment that blends elements of art, design and popular culture to create a unique shopping experience. Shop their range of limited edition toys, figurines, picture books, gadgets, jewellery and art. Magic Pony is curating a special space at IDS along with a whimsical installation.
MONTE DESIGN
At Monte Design, everything is hand crafted and sustainably made in their Toronto location. Comfort, durability, quality, longevity, safety, clean simple lines and honest (as natural as possible) materials are all elements that go into each product. Designing with the modern aesthetics of a home in mind, the company pays close attention to the details. Monte Design products are used by both adults and children/babies, and they strive to make their products beautiful to look at, and also wonderful to touch, feel and sit on at the same time.
GAUTIER KIDS

Norwegian company Stokke challenges traditional thinking, placing a high value on social responsibility by creating products in the best interest of the child. Thoughtful ergonomics with eye-catching modern aesthetics, combined with multi-functionality go into each and every Stokke product.
PLAYABLE STUDIO
No matter what stage in your life, playable furniture functions for you. Kids love to play on it. Adults enjoy its union of function and beauty. Founders Andrea and Erin Pearson inherited their affinity for modern design and woodworking from their father Ken, who resides in B.C. Their design is innovative, responsibly produced and educational. Toys manufactured by Three Pears Inc. are designed using criteria set out in the Province of Ontario Nipissing District Developmental Screen, a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting optimal child development. This ensures that their toys foster age-appropriate development that will stimulate one or more of a baby’s senses or abilities.
